Note for Hornby Coaches;    Please note that you will need to replace plastic wheel sets with metal wheelsets. We can supply Gibson 14mm Coach wheels at £0.63 per axle (order code EX/W1). These will also give better running qualities to coaches.  Hornby units are only available fully assembled complete with wiring, pickups and full instructions.

Automatic Diesel and Electric Loco Head/Tail Lights

These are automatically operating scale head and tail lights for 4mm '00' gauge proprietary ready to run Diesel and Electric locos and power cars. Each unit is supplied fully assembled and with detailed instructions for fitting. The lights are controlled by the direction of travel with the normal headlights lit when running forwards and red tail lights when reversed or at the tail of the train (Sprinters HSTs Etc).

Battery Powered Automatic Head/Tail Lights

The head and tail lights listed below are similar to the section listed above but are powered by a recharchable NiCad battery pack. This enables the lights to remain on when the power to the loco is turned off. Directional indication of the lights is controlled by the track power ensuring that the headlights are always on at the front and the tail lights to the rear. The lights are switched on and off by passing a magnet (supplied with kit) over the body of the loco. This magnet can be placed over the tracks leaving the fiddle yard or entering a tunnel as it leaves your model area. This saves battery power whilst the loco is not being used. The battery pack lasts for approximately 12 hours on larger locos and six hours on smaller locos. Each unit has a battery charger built in which is connected to a socket on the underside of the loco. A power lead is supplied to plug into this socket which is then connected to any 12 volt power supply. Charging takes approximately 14 hours. Several locos could be charged overnight from the same power supply.

Illuminated Headcode boxes and Tail Lights

These kits contain everything required to add tail lights and illuminated headcode boxes to your locomotive. The kits include glazing material for the headcode panel, a sheet of self adhesive reporting numbers giving a good choice of numbers, a light box for each headcode panel, tail lights and directional operating unit. These units are designed for locos that do not have the more modern day headlights.

DMU Head and Tail Lights

These units have two headlights and one oil type lamp together with a directional operating unit.
We supply for a two car unit.

Brake Van Tail Lights

Two red oil lamps are supplied with this unit. One to be fitted to each end of the brake van. When connected to the operating unit the lamp at the rear of the train will be illuminated. Supplied complete with pickups and full instructions. Please note that if the van has plastic wheels they will need to be replaced with by metal tyred wheels.
